ich schaffe es einfach nicht die Zeichen des Paktes CAROLMIN T1-kodiert ins Dokument zu bekommen (T1-Sets sind lt. Doku vorhanden). Hat jemand eine eine Idee und kann helfen?

... hm, das ist eben das Problem: selbst wenn ich Dein kurzes Beispiel nehme bleibt es (bei entsprechender Vergrößerung) zerhackt. Die Dokumenteneigenschaften sagen seltsamerweise auch bei Eingabe nur eines Zeichens etwas von T3 UND T1 ??!
Tja, ... möglicherweise liegt es daran, dass ich pdflatex verwende?

Es wird halt stets ot1cmin.fd geladen. Ich aber möchte die t1cmin.fd! Das hat auch nix mit der STY zutun, da ich auch schon probierte die Schrift direkt aufzurufen (\usefont{T1}{cmin}{m}{n}\selectfont Minuskel).
Keine Ahnung -- das müsste doch klappen?!
und wenn Du es so versuchst:
seltsam eigentlich, da \encodingdefault von fontenc doch auf T1 gesetzt wird (und \Tienc von carolmin.sty auch auf T1 gesetzt wird und bei Gleichheit mit eben \encodingdefault der hier eingefügte \renewcommand eigentlich überflüssig sein sollte) -- trotzdem hat's bei mir damit gefunzt, daß auch t1cmin und nicht ot1cmin geladen wird.Code:\documentclass[ngerman]{scrartcl} \usepackage[T1]{fontenc} \usepackage{babel,blindtext,carolmin} \renewcommand{\cminfamily}{\usefont{T1}{cmin}{m}{n}} \begin{document} (\encodingdefault)(\Tienc) \textcmin{\blindtext} \end{document}

Danke für die Mühe, doch leider: das Ergebnis ist wiederum zerhackt (T3).
Aber: Der Ausdruck beginnt nun mit (T1)(T1) ... blabla, vielleicht ja nur ein kleiner Fehler?

... hm, das war schon klar, wie sähe denn dann der korrekte Eintrag aus? Ich werde immer ratloser -- ich sehe die t1cmin.fd und kann die Zeichen einfach nicht dazu überreden T1 zu sein. Kann es an einer speziellen Debian-Einstellung liegen?
Kann es sein, dass du den T1-Zeichensatz mit PostScript-Type1-Fonts in einen Topf schmeißt?
Nur weil du einen T1-Zeichensatz (Cork character encoding) lädtst, heißt das noch lange nicht, dass du statt eines Bitmap-Fonts einen Vektorgrafik-Font à la PostScript Type1 bekommst. Nocheinmal deutlicher: T1 != Vektorschriften.

Hm, aber in den Dokumentationen der bookhands-Serie heisst es doch recht eindeutig: "The font is supplied in both OT1 and T1 encodings."

Hallo,
mir scheint auch, dass da was durcheinander geht. Die Kodierung T1 bezieht sich wirklich *nur* auf den Eingabetext, also das, was du als .tex abspeicherst, und hat nichts damit zu tun, was für ein pdf-Ergebnis du kriegst. Im Gegensatz dazu sind die type1-Schriftarten, von denen du in deinem Post geschrieben hast, Vektorschriftarten, -- und wie dein Post deines logs zeigen, werden die auch geladen (und haben die Endung pfb, ganz am Ende des Logs). Mit den Schriftarten ist also alles in Ordnung, es liegt eher an der Machart der Schriften, denke ich, als an der Kodierung der Eingabedatei, wenn die Schriften nicht geglättet werden. So habe ich deinen Wunsch jedenfalls interpretiert.
Die T1/OT1-Unterschiede wirken sich nur darauf aus, wie der erweiterte Zeichensatz angesprochen wird, also die Zeichen über 128(ASCI), da kann es bei OT1 dann dazu kommen, dass etwa ä/ö/ü nicht richtig dargestellt werden. Wie ich verstanden habe, sind die aber bei dir vorhanden?
Ich hoffe, das klärt ein bisschen...

... dann kämpfe ich also tatsächlich gegen Windmühlen! Hatte das so verstanden, dass die bookhands-Schriften bei den o.g. Nutzern problemlos "geglättet" in den PDFs erschienen. Tja, wenn dem nicht so ist werde ich meine verzweifelten Bemühungen wohl besser einstellen. Vielen Dank an alle!
